Microsoft Has Announced the second version of Microsoft Windows 8, Naming it Windows 8.1 (not service pack 1 ? ), And as shown in Microsoft Boot-camp, its changed (and improved) in a lot of ways, Including the interface, speed, boot time, welcome screen, start menu button and much more, Also Microsoft has announced 100k Bounty for anyone who can find a bug in it, Stupid Microsoft !

All that aside, let us see whats new in this new version of Windows :
Windows 8.1 'Blue' , Why Not Service Pack 1 ?
Asked by many, Microsoft has not stated why they named the Windows 8.1 "Blue", instead of Windows 8 Service Pack 1, We think its because the 'Service Pack' term has become outdated, and Since Microsoft is renovating, their name has changed too !
Also the reason could be that no service pack in the past has this many changes, "Blue" is a redesigned version of Windows 8, and that the update will bring to the table more refinements and tweaks than one would expect from a regular service pack, and that it is an attempt to address the issues that have been raised by Windows 8. It's interesting that Microsoft itself is referring to "Blue" as Windows 8.1, and not as a service pack for Windows 8.
Windows Start Button :
Looks like Microsoft has heard the criticism we gave them about the missing start button, so they decided to bring it back, As the rumors go "Microsoft has regretted the missing start button, And has brought it back in 8.1" , And this could be seen in the Windows 8.1 Trailer. So +1 Point for Windows 8.1 .

Tiles Redefined :
In the Windows 8 the tiles were of 2 sizes, Square and Rectangle, Now Microsoft has added some more sizes, Including Extra Small rectangles and Big square, And Believe me, It looks Good, You can now also select multiple apps all at once, resize them, uninstall them, or rearrange them. The installed applications are also smartly filtered. The new filter options include name, date installed, most used, or by category. Now when you install a new app from the windows store, those apps are not grouped into the old apps, but in a new section called "New".

Improved (And Impressive) Search :
Now your windows 8 will be deeply integrated with Internet search, Thanks to bing, Now when you type Justin Bieber (GAYY !) In Windows 8.1 Search Bar, It will show the songs by justin bieber (gayy ! ) in your local drive and whats about him on the internet, all in one pane !
Windows Power user quotes "We think this will really change the way you interact with the Web and with Windows making it quicker and easier to get things done. It is the modern version of the command line! Results from local files, apps, and settings are easily accessed in the same convenient view by scrolling to the left." And he's right, this feature is as much as powerful as command lines !
New Snapping And Multitasking Methods :
In windows 8, A very new trick was introduced "Snapping", Where you could run multiple applications side-by-side,but you need a higher resolution monitor to do this, Now in windows blue (or 8.1) you can do it on some average monitors like 1280x800 easily,
Blue is also bringing in new Snap Views so you can share your screen 50:50 between different apps. This was 70:30 in windows 8,also you could do this across multiple monitors.
New Snapping Options Include 50:50 Screen Sharing ! |
Other New Feature's :
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, Enhanced Windows Store, Better Integration With Skydrive, No Control Center (Only PC Settings), Direct Booting To Desktop (Not Confirmed), New Blue Sync.Release Date :
Microsoft is planning an August 1st launch date . The public preview of Windows 8.1 is scheduled to arrive on June 26, which means that if the August launch date is correct, the final release will follow barely over a month later, leaving Microsoft little time to address bug reports and other feedback.
